Being Advocates for Rescued K-9's means...
...we believe that saving one life at a time makes a difference.
...we improve the quality of life for the rescued dogs by providing safe, loving, and knowledgeable foster homes.
...we believe that supportive relationships with shelters, rescue groups, veterinarians, and adoptive families are a priority for the well being of all dogs.
...we take pride in taking the time to work with each dog's unique personalities and behaviors to ensure that their next home is the "forever home".
Please contact us if you have interest in volunteering with B.A.R.K., becoming a foster family, or adopting a new friend!
We rescue, care for, and re-home dogs in need. The majority of our dogs come from overcrowded shelters where they are in danger of being euthanized. We are an all-breed rescue and will accept dogs of any breed into foster care as long as we have a willing and open home available!
After locating and rescuing a dog, they receive quality veterinary care such as vaccinations, de-worming, a spay/neuter, and parasite control, as well as treatment for any other medical issues that are found. Every animal is altered prior to final adoption.
Adoption fees do not cover the care and maintenance that goes into each animal, but they certainly help offset some of the cost. We rely on donations from the public to help us continue to rescue. These donations can be monetary, food, leashes, toys, Frontline, and much more. New or used, we accept it all and put it to good use!
We are a 501(c)3 which means all donations are tax deductible and you will be issued a receipt upon request.
B.A.R.K. Dogs Fostered with Inmates
B.A.R.K. has partnered with the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Lino Lakes to develop a fantastic new program! Some of the B.A.R.K. foster dogs are now living and being "fostered" at the prison with the inmates. Together, they are playing, training, and getting ready for adoption every day. This program has made it possible for us to save even more dogs and they are getting the best care possible!

2 years old
Came into B.A.R.K. as a puppy but was returned when his owner moved.
Finnegan has had a lot of life changes in the last two years! He came to B.A.R.K. with his litter and they were all adopted. His owner decided to move and not take Finn along for that move. Finn is the kind of dog that will appreciate a home that is more quiet than rambunctious, and someone who has a semi-regular routine or schedule. He loves "his" person and does really well with other dogs! He can be barky at times so someone who doesn't share walls with neighbors will be a must. Finn does much better with a confident owner versus someone who gives in to his needy tendencies. We are working on some basic obedience with Finnegan and he's already crate trained/housebroken!
Finnegan is up to date on all of his vaccinations. He has been neutered, heartworm tested negative, and de-wormed. He is currently on monthly Frontline and Heartguard, as well. If you're interested in learning more about Finnegan, or another one of our other wonderful dogs: Visit our Dog Application page and we will contact you soon!
